Chili Cookoff Invitation

Greetings Chili Fans,

On Saturday, November 29, 2008, the members of Colonel B.J. Smith VFW Post 9892 will be gathering at the Bali Hai Beach Resort, in Bauang, La Union for our 17th Annual “Chili Cookoff.” All chili aficionados are invited to join us for a day of fun in the sun.  

The festivities start at 8:30 a.m., when the chili cookers crank up their fires. It won’t take long before the aromas alone make you happy you came. The specific objective, of course, is to determine which team cooks the best pot of chili, judged solely on quality.  

For planning purposes early entries are encouraged. Get your team info and fee to us by the end of October to insure proper shirt sizes on the day of the cook off. That being said, entries will be accepted up until the Team Captains’ Meeting at noon on Friday Nov. 28, 2008 at the Bali Hai.  

Note: No beverages or food (except chili ingredients) may be brought onto the premises. You will find food & beverage prices very reasonable.

We are looking forward to seeing you and your families again this year, so plan on joining us for a day of fun on the beach.
